Hummingbird Lounge – Intimate Dining & Craft Cocktails in New Buffalo, MI

Hummingbird lounge was a sweet, quaint and intimate getaway. The service was A+, cocktails were so fresh and very well made. The ambiance is heavenly. The shrimp and grits and crab cakes were delicious. The salmon and couscous was decent but would have been better with a rice pilaf or red mashed potato and a vegetable on the side for it to have been the price that it was; there was a lot left to be desired with this entrée. But all in all it was a beautiful visit and I will definitely be back soon.

Just got home from an amazing dinner at The Hummingbird! Our server Owen was so attentive and friendly. He made our night very enjoyable! The fish and chips rivaled any we’ve had in Ireland and the Mushroom Risotta could have come from Italy. Oh the shrimp cocktail was one of the best we’ve had in a long time The manager Matt stopped at our table and we had a nice chat. Very friendly and welcoming . Oh! The cherry Old fashioned was delicious! I had to have two The restaurant is beautiful and they have outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend!!!

Cocktails were refreshing and inventive. Yummy cocktails. Atmosphere is lovely, just great! Pork chop was a treat. The fish and chips are very nice portions. Very tasty. Come for the cocktail, have some food then have another cocktail! Oh and the fries and Brussels sports are magical.

Overall good food and service- not pictured but the bread salad missed the mark. Essentially was croutons with tomatoes and mozzarella + dressing. Would have definitely preferred fresh bread! Lemon chicken dish was great. Maybe a bit more lemon needed but overall really great.

The quality of every item we ordered was *chef’s kiss.* The flavors of our cocktails and our meal, from appetizer through dessert were REALLY good. Stand outs included the citrus soy vinaigrette on the seared tuna app, the vegetable risotto, and the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. We were scooping up every part of the citrus soy vinaigrette that we could. The vegetable risotto (zucchini, roasted red pepper, and Parmesan) was the most flavorful risotto I’ve ever had. And the cheesecake? So creamy! Our server was kind and attentive and the manager/owner checked in on us several times as he was very present in the restaurant. It’s a cute little place, set in an old house. Very charming. We can’t wait to go back!

We had such a fun time dining here, the cocktails are all amazing and so unique, the food is great for small bites or a full meal, and the staff are some of the sweetest people. If you have the time, book a private cocktail making experience, it was so much fun!!!

In town celebrating, found this place and far exceeds my expectations!!!!! Matt the Manager and Cate the Bartender are the best!!! The cocktails are handcrafted and will not disappoint. Food is off the charts!! Will be back soon
